The Fire Service says the blaze which gutted an Auckland Mitre 10 store was suspicious, police now investigating
The fire that gutted Mitre 10's expo centre in the Auckland suburb of Onehunga has been deemed suspicious.
The blaze gutted the building on Monday night.
Manukau Chief Fire Officer Larry Cocker says a thorough investigation has eliminated any accidental causes, such as mechanical or electrical defects.
The Fire Service has now handed the investigation over to police.
The store's general manager Dave Grove says his staff are completely stunned to think the fire was deliberately set.
