About Us

Brunner Volunteer Fire Brigade is situated in the township of Dobson.

The Brigade has an establishment of 22 firefighters. Several members of the Brigade have devoted many years of dedicated service to their local community.

The township of Dobson, where Brunner Volunteer Fire Brigade is located, is east of Greymouth on the West Coast of the South Island. A short distance from Brunner Volunteer Fire Station is the site of the worst coal mining disaster in New Zealand which resulted in the death of 65 miners in 1896. A monument erected to their memory is located near the original Brunner Mine site.
